Featured Speakers:

J. Howard, Community Engagement Manager, Guitars Over Guns

Among South Florida’s live music community, J. Howard has built a reputation as a dynamic multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and performer whose style and musicality transcend genre. The son of Detroit multi-instrumentalist Eddie Howard, Jr., J grew up immersed in music and has since performed on stages from AFROPUNK FEST Brooklyn and Okeechobee Music & Arts Festival to some of Miami’s most notable venues. His collaborations span gospel, R&B, hip-hop, Latin, and soul, and have included artists such as Tye Tribbett, The Clark Sisters, and Erykah Badu. Beyond the stage, J is an entrepreneur, creative collaborator, and longtime advocate of “Each one, teach one,” using music as a vehicle for love, hope, positivity, and perspective.

That commitment to community is central to J’s work with Guitars Over Guns Organization (GOGO), where he serves as Community Engagement Manager. In this role, J bridges GOGO’s mission and the communities it serves, building authentic relationships that strengthen trust, visibility, partnerships, and grassroots support. As an artist and ambassador, he represents GOGO in the community, cultivates relationships with artists, organizations, corporations, and other partners, and helps create meaningful opportunities for young people through performances, showcases, and community experiences. His work reflects the same philosophy that drives his artistry: using creativity and connection to bring people together and help the next generation recognize what is possible.
