NYC: Music Managers Take Center Stage at Mondo.NYC

MMF-US joined Mondo.NYC on Thursday, October 15, for “Music Managers: The New Power Brokers.” The panel explored managers’ increasingly central role in shaping artist careers, directing budgets and driving long-term strategy, examining how they turn creative vision into sustainable businesses, exercise influence responsibly and shape the future of the global music economy.

Jeanine McLean (CEO, Castlight Mgmt & Media Inc), Randy Nichols (Manager, Fly South Music Group) and Ryan Ruden (Founder, Aerial Entertainment) joined moderator Sharon Tapper, MMF-US Executive Director, for the conversation.

NYC: Cultivating a Queer-Inclusive Team

MMF-US, Queer Capita and The Orchard came together on Wednesday, October 14, for an evening of conversation and community focused on cultivating queer-inclusive teams across the music industry.

Against a backdrop of ongoing attacks on LGBTQIA+ rights, the discussion explored the complexities of living and working openly and authentically. From the workplace to the stage, speakers shared their experiences across the music industry, the challenges they had encountered and overcome, and what it takes to build supportive, intentional and inclusive teams and communities.

MMF-US Miami Summit 2026

On Friday, September 25, 2026, the Music Managers Forum-US brought artist managers, self-managed artists, and music industry professionals together at the SoundOn/TikTok offices in Miami for a full day of keynote conversations, panels, presentations, and networking.

The Summit’s keynote featured Miguel Lua, Head of Music at WK Entertainment and WK Records, in conversation with Matthew Limones, CEO and Co-Founder of Prediction Enterprises and Chair of the MMF-US Miami Chapter. They discussed the evolving role of the artist manager, building global careers, and the work involved in developing lasting businesses and brands around artists.

The day opened with a SoundOn/TikTok presentation on how user-generated content invites fans to participate in an artist’s story. Panels then explored the infrastructure and income strategies behind modern artist careers; music licensing, registrations, and royalties; the power of music to drive social change; and the growing influence of managers across the industry. Presentations from Artist Growth, SoundExchange, The MLC, KOSIGN, and UNSIN offered additional insights and resources. The Summit closed with a networking mixer.

MMF-US NY Summit

The MMF-US New York Summit, held on Monday, June 8th at Reed Smith's New York offices, brought together artist managers, self-managed artists, and music industry professionals for a full day of keynote conversations, panel discussions, educational presentations, and networking.

We were honored to welcome Danny Goldberg, President of Gold Village Entertainment, as our keynote speaker in conversation with Jem Aswad, Executive Editor, Music at Variety. Goldberg, who currently manages the careers of Steve Earle, The Waterboys, and Martha Wainwright, among others, has also managed artists such as Nirvana, Sonic Youth, Bonnie Raitt, Hole, and The Allman Brothers Band, and previously led Atlantic Records, Warner Bros. Records, and Mercury Records Group. Together, Goldberg and Aswad explored the evolution of artist management, artist development, and the future of the modern music manager.

Throughout the day, attendees participated in discussions on music licensing and rights management, artificial intelligence and music, social impact and advocacy, the evolving role of artist managers, and building modern artist teams. MMF-US Webinar: The Hidden Impact of Bundling - Why Alternative Financing Could Preserve Your Catalog’s Value

As of March 2024, Spotify began bundling audiobooks into its offerings for subscribers, leading to other streaming services like Amazon Music following suit. Consequently, these companies started paying music publishers and songwriters a discounted royalty rate to accommodate this new addition to premium subscriptions. If left as is, the National Music Publishers’ Association (NMPA) projects that by 2032, music publishers risk losing over $3.1 billion from these bundling strategies - which begs the question: What does this mean for the value of a catalog?
