Featured Speakers:
Miguel Lua, Head of Music, WK Entertainment & WK Records
Miguel Lua is a veteran music executive and artist manager who currently serves as Head of Music at WK Entertainment and WK Records, where he works alongside founder and CEO Walter Kolm to help lead the company’s global music strategy across its management and record label divisions.
Throughout his career, Lua has built a reputation for approaching artist management from a 360-degree perspective, working across A&R, artist development, marketing, touring, brand partnerships, content, and international strategy. His experience has centered on developing long-term artist careers while identifying opportunities to expand audiences, create cultural moments, and position Latin talent on the global stage.
Lua previously served as a managing partner for global superstar Maluma, playing an integral role in one of the most important chapters of the Colombian artist’s career. He oversaw key aspects of Maluma’s album releases including the GRAMMY-nominated album Don Juan and the global success of “Según Quién,” Maluma’s collaboration with Carín León. The record became a landmark crossover between urbano and Música Mexicana, reaching No. 1 on both Billboard’s Latin Airplay and Regional Mexican Airplay charts and generating hundreds of millions of streams and views worldwide.
During that period, Lua also worked closely across Maluma’s touring, media, digital, film, and brand businesses. He helped execute the 29-city Don Juan U.S. Tour, major television and awards-show appearances, and partnerships with global brands including HUGO BOSS, Meta x Ray-Ban, Amazon, Michelob Ultra and Hennessy among others. He was also involved in the development of Maluma’s independent label venture, Royalty Records, helping establish its artist-development and global marketing strategy.
Today, Lua brings that experience to a broader roster and executive mandate at WK. He has played a key role in shaping Farruko’s latest chapter, working to broaden the Puerto Rican star’s global positioning through new music, collaborations, and crossover opportunities, including his return to the Ultra Music Festival stage alongside Steve Aoki and the launch of “YaPaQue” with Greeicy.
Lua also works closely on the continued development and global strategy of artists including Xavi, one of the defining voices of the new generation of Música Mexicana, and Argentine pop star Emilia Mernes, while actively identifying, signing, and developing emerging talent and new projects for WK Entertainment and WK Records.
As Head of Music, Lua is helping expand WK Records’ repertoire and catalog while creating greater alignment between the company’s management and label businesses. His work sits at the intersection of traditional artist management and the rapidly evolving modern music business—combining creative instincts and artist relationships with data, A&R, marketing, global partnerships, and long-term career strategy.
Based in Miami, Lua continues to focus on building global careers and developing the next generation of Latin talent, with a management philosophy centered on adaptability, cultural understanding, strategic vision, and the belief that successful artist management goes far beyond managing music—it means building enduring careers, businesses, and brands.
