Daouda Leonard, CEO, CreateSafe; manager of Grimes

Daouda Leonard is a philosopher at the forefront of the creator empowerment movement. With more than a decade of service in the entertainment industry, Daouda has worked as a manager, publisher, producer, A&R and creative director for Grimes, DJ Snake, Skrillex, BloodPop® and more. His creative contributions have generated over 15 billion global media impressions and sales to date for cultural leaders including Lady Gaga, Drake, Madonna, Kanye West, Ms. Lauryn Hill, The Weeknd and Justin Bieber.

Before becoming an entrepreneur in the music business, Daouda graduated from Northeastern University School of Business with a degree in Management Information Systems and worked on Wall Street at Tudor Investment as an information technology analyst. Daouda worked full-time while simultaneously attending school and contributing to the culture of internet-fueled file-sharing that preceded the music streaming era.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Daouda grew up practicing meditation, Yoga, and Tae Kwon Do. Now, Daouda leverages the power of intentional breathing to overcome obstacles and manifest surprising advantages for his creative collaborators. Daouda is a steadfast champion of transparency, consent, education, and artist development.

Above all, Daouda believes in a world where artists are seen, heard, and economically empowered. He is currently the co-founder and CEO of CreateSafe, Inc., a music tech company building an AI production studio for artists to automate the creation, distribution and marketing of music IP. In his free time, Daouda enjoys learning, writing, hiking, and collaborating with his wife, Nikki.

Andreea Gleeson is the Chief Executive Officer of TuneCore, and a leading innovator in the music industry. Drawing on her years of experience as an eCommerce pioneer in the retail industry, she joined TuneCore in 2015 as a member of the senior leadership team and rose to CEO in 2021. Gleeson has helped build TuneCore into one of the most dynamic and innovative companies in the independent music space. Her passionate support of independent artists has driven the implementation of leading-edge product and technology solutions, artist education programs, Best-in-Class artist support and more, establishing TuneCore as the premier development platform for self-releasing artists.

Andreea is also a fierce advocate for gender equality in the music industry, commissioning the annual study BE THE CHANGE: Gender Equity in Music to identify why independent female and gender expansive creators remain underrepresented in the music industry, raise awareness on their challenges and provide actionable insights into how to combat them. 

Since 2021, Andreea has been included in multiple Billboard Power Lists (Power 100, Indie Power Players, International Power Players, Women in Music) and in 2022, she was named International Woman of the Year at Music Week’s Women In Music event. Under her guidance as CEO, TuneCore was included in Fast Company’s list of the Most Innovative Companies in the music industry in 2023, 2024, and 2025, and was included on Crain’s list of the Best Places to Work in New York in 2022, 2023 and 2024.
