Rochelle Holguin, VP, Creative Music & Licensing Strategy, ViacomCBS (TV)

Rochelle Holguin is Vice President, Creative Music Strategy & Licensing at ViacomCBS.   She oversees music supervision for content creators across MTV, VH1, BET, Logo, CMT and PopTV programming, marketing and digital teams.  Rochelle also spearheads the A+R and marketing initiatives for the global ViacomCBS Production Music Library.

Prior to her current role she held the post of VP, Creative Strategy at Universal Music Publishing Group.  Her responsibilities included serving as the creative liaison between A+R and the Film/TV department.  Previously at MTV she developed and executed significant music marketing campaigns for primetime series Teen Wolf, Awkward, Faking It, The Real World, Teen Mom, Jersey Shore and The Hills among others.  Prior to joining MTV, she was a music coordinator at Hit The Ground Running Inc.

Ms. Holguin received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from UCLA and in 2015 she was named an emerging Powerful + Influential Latino in Entertainment by the Imagen Foundation.  She is on the advisory board for Women In Music and the NVAK Foundation as well as a member of the Recording Academy and Television Academy.

In her free time she serves as a mentor for Brown Girls Dream, an informal support system for high potential women of color.  The program seeks to level the playing field by pairing young leaders with multimedia industry veterans who are committed to helping young women navigate through the early stages of their careers.

Danny Exum, Music Supervisor, Workshop Creative (Trailers)

Danny Exum is currently the Director of Music for Workshop Creative, leading the music department and overseeing all creative music endeavors at the agency. Danny got his start in the music industry as a DJ and live mix engineer at the esteemed 88.9 WERS in Boston, before bolting westwards to work in EMI's Film/TV department. Since those days he has built a strong career placing music in marketing campaigns for many types of films, including Bombshell, Rocketman, Toy Story 4, Good Boys, The Big Sick, Baywatch, Jumanji, Detroit, Kubo And The Two Strings, and many more. 


In addition to his film trailer work, Danny has music supervised a number of independent films and advertising campaigns and is co-producer for Cypress Grove where he most recently produced a volume of songs by the lost Delta Bluesman Hayes McMullan. He has been nominated for a Guild of Music Supervisors award four times for Best Use Of Music in a film trailer. He collects early American music and ephemera, and needs more room for his records.

Patricia Carrera, Music Supervisor, Control Freaks (Film/TV)

Patricia (Paty) is a music supervisor at Control Freaks. Control Freaks is dedicated to helping creators manage their rights, do music licensing and supervision for movies, TV series and advertising, advise to create business models and do a lot of networking, including the search for talent for special events. Paty has supervised various films for both Netflix and Amazon Studios for the US as well as many Mexican productions.

Paty has been working for 18 years in royalty collection for artists and authors, more than 10 years doing licensing for films, tv and advertising, and about 5 as a music supervisor and consultant. She represents the international music producer Phil Vinall and handles artists such as Beto Cuevas, Ely Guerra, Enjambre, Pato Machete, Jonaz and many more.

Rick Clark, Music Supervisor, Rick Clark Productions (Film/TV)

Rick Clark’s Music Supervision credits include Oprah Winfrey's Greenleaf, AMC's Hell On Wheels, and Hap And Leonard, for which he was nominated Best Music Supervision in a Television Drama at last year's Guild of Music Supervisor Awards. The soundtrack for Greenleaf won a 2020 Stellar Award. Clark’s music supervision work also includes Billy Bob Thornton’s Jayne Mansfield's Car, Jason Reitman’s Up In The Air, and Big Star: Nothing Can Hurt Me. Clark has created and/or produced music for film/tv under his own name and as part of the creative wrecking crew Deliverance Sisters. 

Other credits include ten of the award-winning Oxford American Magazine Southern Music issues and CD anthologies and music production credits that include Marty Stuart’s American Odyssey radio hour for Sirius/XM, Los Super Seven, and Death Cab For Cutie. 

Steven Scharf, President, Steven Scharf Entertainment; MMF-US Founding Member and Advisory Board Member

Over his five-decades-long career in the music industry, Steven Scharf has worked in nearly every aspect of the business. In 1991, after nearly 20 years as an independent record producer and head of A&R at Private Stock Records, he launched his own management and consulting firm, Steven Scharf Entertainment (SSE), in a joint venture with legendary music publisher Freddy Bienstock and later, with Caroline Bienstock at Carlin America, ultimately rising to Sr. V.P. Creative. In addition to signing songwriters, purchasing and working catalogs, and placing thousands of songs in film, TV, and commercials for Carlin, Steve has managed many highly successful record producers and film composers, as well as licensing indie music to all platforms and expanded his company, SSE, to include consulting to the music publishing industry. Steve is also a founding member of the Music Managers Forum-US and is a voting member of The Recording Academy.
